Milling
The milling is a mechanical process in the cold for chip removal, which allows to realize a finished piece, whose shape has been defined in the project, starting from a blank of metal and removing the excess material, which is said allowance. In order to produce the finished piece must be inscribed in this piece of departure from which the excess material will be removed.
Turning
Turning is a process of industrial production obtained by chip removal. The turning is defined by a rotary motion of the workpiece and a motion for the most part straight tool (in milling and drilling, the tool has instead a rotary motion). The cutting edge of the tool penetrates the material of the workpiece and broke off the excess (oversize) thus forming a chip. The machine tool used for turning is the lathe.
